Georgopoulos, Paveli & Associates Law Office’s work is varied. Although our members practice essentially at every field of law, we have particular expertise in civil law, commercial and corporate law, employment law and especially energy and property law. Our clients come from a wide range of companies and the local government although we advise individual clients as well.
Examples of the office’s corporate clients include oil companies, real estate developers, individual contractors, photovoltaic projects, and commercial companies. The office advises both corporate and individual overseas clients as well, among the latter and Greeks from the Diaspora.
All members are very experienced in contract drafting and litigation, as they regularly appear in all the Greek courts, including the Supreme Court, while some members have published or presented papers on Greek or English commercial law, public law and property law.

Civil law
All members of the office both advise on and act as advocates in relation to all types of civil law disputes in the Greek courts, including the Supreme Court, and are very experienced in dealing with all issues concerning family, inheritance, tort, property and private law.
Except for adoption, divorce litigation, children issues and consent orders, on family law the members are experienced to more complex and demanding issues such as financial settlements and international matters of parental responsibility (please note that pre-nuptial agreements are not permitted under Greek law).
On inheritance law, except for will drafting, the members would advise on estate planning as well and conduct litigation if needed. A large part of our work on inheritance law concerns the estate in Greece of foreigners or Greeks of Diaspora so members are frequently instructed by overseas lawyers.
Negotiating and drafting contracts is part of the everyday work of our members while breach of contract litigation is the most common business dispute. Whether litigation arises from a partnership agreement, a purchase or lease agreement or any other business contract either written or oral, the members have successfully handled all types of breach of contract disputes.

Commercial and corporate law
Members are experienced to commercial disputes whether arising from contract, breach of duty, unjust enrichment or otherwise. The principal areas of practice are company law, shipping, insurance, banking and finance, energy and information technology. The majority of advocates are very well acquainted with common law as well as with E.U. law.

The office is one of the leading Greek law firms on energy law, as members have significant experience in advising individual and corporate clients in the energy industry, especially in photovoltaic projects, and in the issues raised by the Greek Energy Regulation Committee. Moreover, members advise on construction contracts, joint ventures, leases, etc.

Employment law
Members offer comprehensive legal advice and representation to both individual employees and companies to all issues concerning employment law, including the client’s representation to the employment tribunals and the conduct of litigation if needed.
Acting for the employee, the office is experienced to wrongful termination, employment defamation cases, wages and over-time claims and life, health and disability claims.
Representing a wide range of employers, members advise on termination of employment, preparation of employment documentation and represent employers to the employment tribunals. Members are very experienced on issues concerning the legal status of foreign employees in Greece.
Real property
The office represents a diverse group of individual or corporate clients in Greece and abroad in real property transactions throughout the country. Our experience is probably unrivalled in Greece having advised for the performance of many major construction works or investments. Members have extensive experience in all aspects of real property, from the leasing of an apartment to complex and sophisticated financing.
